Artist's Comments
This is 1/7 of a multimedia assignment I am doing on the 7 Deadly Sins. I am trying to depict each sin in the manner or style of a different era of the 20th century. 1930s - 90s.
1930s - Lust 1940s - Envy 1950s - Gluttony 1960s - Greed 1970s - Wrath 1980s - Vanity 1990s - Sloth This is Envy in the 1940s. The colour of Envy is (obviously) green, so I shot the photo outside, with the garden and foliage. The punishment for envy is to be thrown into a vat of boiling oil, so I chose the font "Bleeding Freaks". I should have let Charlie sit in on the photo shoot, because the animal associated with Envy is the dog.  I chose Envy for the 1940s because most people were forced to make signifigant sacrifices in regard to their lifestyles because of World War II. This would have spurred envy amongst families, neightbours and nations. If you watch Pearl Harbour, you can see the same hairstyle on a few women. The dress Tallulah wears was my Mum's first wedding dress. The two people in the background are my cousin Elisha and my boyfriend Michael (~Micklez) Photo taken by me, photo manipulated by me.
